time for a turnaround against NAC Breda
By: Jackson | December 25th, 2008With three successive losses and a uncomfortably bad first half of the year Gertjan Verbeek knows the importance of a victory against NAC Breda before the winter break. At thirteenth in the table, supporters have naturally been highly disappointed of performance. In addressing the problems head-on, Gertjan Verbeek said:
“We thought we would be a lot further along, but the results have been disappointing. It is mainly due to the unbelievable injury list. It’s no use looking for excuses. The only worthwhile thing is to continue to work hard to get things back on track. Everyone in the squad realises that. At the start of January, during the training camp in Turkey, we have to lay good foundations for a good run in the second half of the season.”
For the match Feyenoord will be without André Bahia, Karim El Ahmadi, Luigi Bruins and Henk Timmer is doubtful. Due to the omissions Gertjan Verbeek said:
“We have to play in a completely new formation then and that does not make the task against NAC any easier.”
In a perfect summary the coach added:
“We need the support of the Legion more than ever.”
NAC sits fifth in the table, tied with PSV with twenty-nine points. After a horrible three match slide, they responded with a 2-0 victory over Vitesse Arnhem and with scoring sensation Matthew Amoah will be looking to push his club for valuable points before the break.
Lets hear some support Het Legion!

Well, they did it. The Legion apparently accompanied every ball contact with a huge olee…
Feyenoord’s backfour played together once in the young Feyenoord team and that’s all.
