problems in first friendly match in Turkey
By: Jackson | January 7th, 2009
While I don’t get too concerned with friendlies, Feyenoord’s 3-0 loss to Gençlerbirliði in in Belek, Turkey was disturbing as Diego Biseswar was forced out of the match fifteen minutes after the start dazed. While Gertjan Verbeek used the match as a chance to experiment with his squad and as a conditioning work, Biseswar came close to scoring early but he left the match after being stricken in the head. Feyenoord provided little scoring threat but can look at the match as a good training session and not with concern of overall performance.
Following the match Gertjan Verbeek noted his displeasure with the space created in the attack and added that he expects Diego Biseswar that “he will be back working with the group shortly.”
Serginho Greene, Kevin Hofland and Tim de Cler continued to train and are expected to join full team sessions shortly and could feature in the friendly this Saturday.
