Leon Vlemmings first match in-charge of Feyenoord against Heerenveen

Feyenoord return to play after the break against Heerenveen with Leon Vlemmings taking over for Gertjan Verbeek. It has been only two days since the managerial shakeup and de Kuip is far from being on steady ground.

For Vlemmings, he comes in with the club in a near mutiny state and looking for leadership but equally management will not sit idly by and search out a more experienced manager. Het Legioen should not expect any tactical changes with the new manager saying:

“It’s only logical that some things will be different now I’m the one with final responsibility. But the entire technical staff have been consulted about tactics during the past few months. So it would be very strange for me to now change things around completely.”

Trond Sollied’s Frisians will be looking to get off to a good start at home but they will be hampered with key absences of Kenny Steppe and Geert-Arend Roorda to injury and Christian Grindheim who is suspended. Their already attack heavy approach with Roy Beerens and Gerald Sibon have added Swedish international Patrik Ingelsten and Viktor Elm.

Given the managers commentary Het Legioen should not expect significant lineup changes. They are bolstered with the Kevin Hofland’s return to health as well as continued improvement of Leroy Fer and Diego Biseswar.
