Feyenoord over De Graafschap 2-0

By: Jackson | February 22nd, 2009

Following last weeks loss to Ajax, Feyenoord responded with a 2-0 defeat of De Graafschap. Breathing a sigh of relief, Leon Vlemmings’ club moves up to eleventh place in the table.

After a scoreless opening half the Rotterdammers took the lead with Karim El Ahmadi scoring nine minutes after the break with Jon Dahl Tomasson adding the second deep into added time. Feyenoord started fast with Georginio Wijnaldum nearly finding the net barely thirty seconds in but following that chance, De Graafschap defensive was impossible to penetrate. Finally after the break it was Karim El Ahmadi who broke the deadlock as he scored from the edge of the area. At the hour Ben Sahar came close for De Graafschap and while just missing it woke his side up as they continued to pressure. However there was no beating Henk Timmer and with the match nearing conclusion Jon Dahl Tomasson made it 2-0 from close range.
