Feyenoord injury woes
By: Jackson | December 3rd, 2008To Het Legioen Feyenoord’s injury woes have been particularly maddening as the club has been plagued with a series of hamstring injuries. Luigi Bruins, Tim de Cler, Jonathan de Guzman, Denny Landzaat, , Michael Mols and Andwele Slory have all suffered injuries, leaving the club perplexed and seeking answers. While they have consulted the Erasmus University Medical Centre in Rotterdam for answers it should be of interest that in the pre-season they were warned by one of the sports foremost experts of performance based training that this would occur.
My confidential source noted that the club’s was informed that its preparatory and rejuvenation methods lent to a disjointed and unbalanced boleiros and didn’t act on recommended action plan. The summary note that their off pitch work took the erroneous pattern whereby players used an assembly-line antiquated approach akin to an algebraic solution where “a + b = c”, it was pointed out in highly specific manner that development ignored a firm understanding of the modern game and that injuries, with precise prediction of the resulting hamstring problems, would occur. Effectively, not only was the problem predicted with complete accuracy but the action plan to avoid it, was ignored.
I will update this situation shortly.
