Feyenoord fight back for draw against Vitesse

Looking for a win to send them into the top half of the table, De Kuip was disappointed as Feyenoord played Vitesse to a 2-2 draw. Both sides were tentative going forward early but eighteen minutes after the start Nicky Hofs gave Vitesse the lead with pin-point free kick from long range. Looking for the leveler, Leroy Fer’s attempt was cleared from the line by Ricky van Wolfswinkel. However four minutes before the break Diego Biseswar shot from the left-hand side of the box was turned in by Georginio Wijnaldum to bring the match even. Confident after the break Feyenoord came close to finding the go-ahead goal with attempts by Diego Biseswar and André Bahia but on the hour Dalibor Stevanovič gave the visitors the lead. With only eighteen minutes remaining a Georginio Wijnaldum free-kick resulted in a perfect opportunity Roy Makaay and the veteran was error free. Now level Leon Vlemmings looked towards his bench for the winner and up Michael Mols stood. Immediately the pace of the Rotterdammers charged forward and only a goal-line clearance save Mols from scoring the winning goal. However despite the cheers of De Kuip, the match ended with a 2-2 draw.
